Accelerate IT projects
The challenge
After the merger, Wilgaerden Leekerweide Groep is a large and important player in the care for the residents of the seven municipalities in West Friesland. There is a need for the organization to truly become one; many systems are still insufficiently integrated. The merger rationale focuses on:
- Being substantively better able to help more people.
- Knowledge sharing and mutual cooperation between mental healthcare (GGZ) and nursing home care (VVT) domains.
- Achieving cost synergy.
- Raising the organization's profile by being able to offer more treatments.
- Having a stronger position towards stakeholders such as health insurers due to a large regional market share.
To achieve synergy, in addition to or after implementing the big 5 projects, work must also be done on a modern care organization with a future-oriented way of working.
The merger synergies have not yet been fully achieved, partly because some large IT projects (Big 5) are not progressing quickly enough. Employees and clients experience hindrance from this in their daily work. ImpactWork has been asked to provide IT project management for the Big 5 projects in order to get them back on track and deliver them faster.
Key question
- How can we accelerate the implementation of the large IT projects?
Our solution
On behalf of ImpactWork, Jeroen Bos fulfilled the role of IT program manager. He conducted an inventory, created a roadmap, and provided advice on the requested acceleration. Jeroen is also the executing program manager and directs the change on a daily basis, as well as an increasingly larger part of the IT team (25 fte).
