AB Werkt and the ImpactWork Foundation invest in children's futures

08-08-2026

In the Netherlands, your postal code still determines your chances in the job market. AB Werkt and the ImpactWork Foundation want to change that. They are joining forces and partnering with JINC, the leading youth organization for equal opportunities in the job market. The mission: to better prepare young people from vulnerable neighborhoods for the job market. With job application training, career coaching, and company visits, we will literally build a bridge between school and the workplace.

Focus on Brabant and Limburg

AB Werkt specializes in job placement in the agricultural, (food) industry, waste management, landscaping, and cleaning sectors. These sectors directly relate to the training programs of many JINC participants. This creates a natural bridge between education and the job market. Through programs at dozens of schools in Heerlen, Sittard-Geleen, Breda, Tilburg, Eindhoven, 's-Hertogenbosch, and Helmond, among others, they are introduced to professions, discover their talents, and learn how to apply for jobs.

Dajs Meijers, Senior Project Officer at JINC: "At JINC, we make a difference for almost 90,000 students every year. But our ambition extends even further. Because there are still too many children who can't overcome their socioeconomic disadvantage. They lack the skills and role models to develop their talents. It is our mission to reach all these students. That's why we are thrilled that ImpactWork and AB Werkt are supporting us in this mission."

Client and supplier together on a social mission

This collaboration is a logical step for AB Werkt and ImpactWork after having worked together as a client and supplier for several years. AB Werkt – active in the agricultural, (food) industry, waste management, landscaping, and cleaning sectors – collaborates with ImpactWork on strategy, sustainability, recruitment, experience management, and proposition innovation. Now both organizations are taking the next step: jointly investing in the future of young people.

The donation from ImpactWork is made through the ImpactWork Foundation. This foundation receives 25% of ImpactWork's profits and makes that money available to organizations that contribute to a sustainable labor market. JINC fits perfectly with this mission.

Rob Niesen, Managing Director of AB Werkt: "We know from experience how valuable the collaboration with ImpactWork is. They have helped us grow as an employer, with concrete results. We are now jointly dedicating that energy to young people who need a little support. Our people are actually going into the classroom, practicing job interviews, and giving young people a glimpse into the workplace. In our sectors, these are the professionals of tomorrow."

What does JINC do?

JINC specifically focuses on children aged 8 to 16 from socio-economically vulnerable neighborhoods. Through various programs, they are introduced to professions, discover their talents, and learn how to apply for jobs.

Employees of AB Werkt and ImpactWork will actively participate in the following projects:

- Job Application Training: Professionals conduct real job interviews with pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) students.
- Career Coach: Individual conversations with fourth-year students about their careers.
- Blitz Internship: Short company visits where children experience the workplace.
- Boss of Tomorrow: Young people spend a day shadowing directors and CEOs.
Sustainable HRM starts early.

The JINC partnership aligns with ImpactWork's broader vision of sustainable HRM. The traditional focus on maximum flexibility and minimum costs is no longer sustainable. Organizations must invest in people, and that starts before someone even enters the job market. While JINC prepares young people for their first steps toward employment, AB Werkt and ImpactWork guide people further in their careers. Together, they ensure a strong start and sustainable development.

Rogier van Hamburg, co-founder of ImpactWork: "Our collaboration with AB Werkt began with a strategy for sustainable employment placement. We now know the organization and the people behind it well. You can see how committed they are to their employees and to the region. This partnership with JINC symbolizes what our collaboration delivers: an impact that extends beyond the organization itself. It's precisely why we established the ImpactWork Foundation."

Official launch on January 5, 2026

The partnership was officially confirmed on January 5, 2026. The collaboration will initially run for one year, with the intention of continuing the collaboration. There is also an option to expand to JINC Amsterdam in the future.

Because every child has talent. Regardless of where they were born.
